When my partner and I moved our clients off IPower, he did a bit of "due diligence" and his first choice was 1and1, but at the time they were at capacity and couldn't rent us a dedicated server. But now they're advertising dedicated's available starting at 100/mo, so that's probably where I'll go.
I should call now, but I'm basically waiting to see when/if I can get the zensden site back to move it in toto.
It looks like a pretty good offer, and includes a separate FTP access to a separate server for backup purposes - I don't need top of line performance. Other than zensden, it's just casual and occasional development and testing.
Know anyone who wants a website (or other remote computer usage) with good control to help defray the cost I'll bear (I'd need to keep root but have no problem setting up vhosts, shell accounts, databases and the like, and would help in setting up backup/recovery strategies)?
