our USCLUG just perticipated in freedom software day.i got to attend it and had my first experience around pclinuxos and hands on with ubuntu.
what i fould interesting is that pclinuxos is mandriva based and can really do a fantastic job with wireless?IIRC.ubuntuc and kubuntu was both available and if i ever get a 2nd box going i plan to try the education ubuntu out.there was a 6 year p;d there telling me about opera and another browser that i needed to try.i love firefox but the child was so excited about these other 2 that i am going to have to at least take a look.youth can be encourage to get excited about software if it is presented tthe right way.and i do understand schools are just trying to help the bottom line.
it is the lugs that could go and do presentations or make demos that interest them maybe.
